I’m a professional writer and teacher with a knack for helping young adults through the college essay process. I received a BA in English from Yale and an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown, where I also taught fiction. Most recently, I won the 2024 National Book Critics Circle award for my first book.
Students come from a range of backgrounds, but my acceptance and matriculation records are similar to those of the top preparatory schools in the country. Recent years include MIT, UC Berkeley (+ other UCs), Yale, Georgetown, Dartmouth, Columbia, Williams, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, New York University, University of Southern California, Howard, Tufts, Bard, Wisconsin-Madison, Mount Holyoke, and Bucknell, as well as schools in Canada and the UK.
Beyond applications, my aim is to enable students as they grow more skillful, confident, and creative in their writing. I'm warm and highly individualized in my approach; all coaching is one on one. Students come away with improved humanities grades across the board and better prepared for college.
