Gwendolyn Harper is a writer and translator; she occasionally makes objects. Her translation of the Chilean writer Pedro Lemebel's crónicas, A Last Supper of Queer Apostles (Penguin Classics, 2024) won the National Book Critics' Circle Gregg Barrios Book in Translation Prize.

Gwen is the recipient of a 2020 National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and a 2021 Works in Progress grant from the Robert B. Silvers foundation. She is grateful for additional support for the Lemebel project from PEN Translates (UK, 2022) and FONDART (Chile, 2023). Most recently, she was a writer in residence at the Jan Michalski Foundation, at work on a novel.

Gwen earned an MFA from Brown and a BA from Yale.
